Orlando Student of the Month

“I strive for excellence and I take pride in my work. With each client my goal is to make them look and feel fabulous. I’m punctual and focus and practice every chance I get.

I chose Aveda because I love the mission and what we stand for. I also love the energy and feel of the staff and the educators.

I went to high school at West Orange High School.

Amber Cruz

B side Masters Student and Artistic Team Member

Orlando Student of the Month

What do you do as a student to stand out as someone exceptional in our student body?

“I honestly just try to give the best example, be myself always, but also a good roll model. It somewhat comes naturally to me to work hard and give my all for what I love, but I always push and encourage myself to work a little bit harder for that extra that I know I can achieve. I love my Aveda family! I love to encourage others to be better than they were the day before, and to always do the best in everything they do.”

Why did you choose Aveda?

“I chose Aveda because other than being a very professional environment, it’s also a very family like environment. Aveda focuses on your own well being as one of the main factors to a healthy and successful career and that’s what inspires me. To help others be well, you need to be well yourself.”

Where did you go to high school?

“I went to Academia Santo Tomás de Aquino in Bayamón, Puerto Rico for most of high school and then graduated from Pine Ridge High School in Deltona, Florida.”

Any extra information such as hobbies or organizations you are/were involved in?

“I am a Ballet and Bellydance performer out of school. I am member of the B side Artistic team in school. I participated at the Disney’s Father Daughter Princess Ball for princesses makeup and hair. I was also part of the BCRF Aveda Fashion Show and got to participate in the Orlando International Fashion Week. I am also participating in Flashes of Hope. Currently I am participating in the “Don Pasquale” Opera Show and I’m hoping in a future, not too far, to be part of “The Nutcracker Ballet” for performers hair and makeup, so fingers crossed.”
