Aveda Institutes South Florida created a step-by-step tutorial to show you how to create a simple half crown braid. This hairstyle is a fun way to impress your friends without spending too much time trying to style it!

Follow the steps below to recreate this look.

What you will need:

Paddle brush
Finishing brush
Natural Styling comb
Bobby pins
Rubber bands
Aveda Confixor
Aveda Control Force
Aveda Brilliant Spray-on Shine

Step 1: Brush out clean, dry hair with paddle brush

Step 2: Using comb, section out hair for braid based on desired size and placement.

Step 3: Apply small amount of Confixor to section by raking fingers through hair.

Step 4: Braid side one using standard three section braiding technique.

Step 5: Secure braid with rubber band and spray with Control Force.

Step 6: Repeat on other side.

Step 7: Pull both braids back and cross at the middle back of the head.

Step 8: Secure in place with bobby pin.

Step 9: Tuck unfinished ends under finished braids and secure at both sides with bobby pins.

Step 10: Spray braids in place with Control Force. Finish off by applying Brilliant Spray-on Shine to loose ends if desired.
